A MILESTONE EVENT
On September 5, 2009, the project will formally celebrate a milestone event in the plantation of the 25000th tree at the Gowramma Lake near Gunjur Village.
Shri Arvind Limbavali, Hon'ble Minister for Higher Education, Govt. of Karnataka, Shri A K Varma, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Karnataka will be the Chief Guests, and Shri S Nagendra, District Governor, Rotary District 3190 will preside over the function. They will plant not only the 25000th sapling to denote the milestone, but also the next few trees to signify the continuity and on-going nature of the project.
Several companies plan to use this occasion to have their employees come and participate in the tree plantation efforts as will many school and college students from nearby institutions. Tree plantation will start around 9 AM and will continue till about 12 noon.
All are welcome. To get to the Gowramma Lake,
A. From the HAL Airport: Past Marathhalli towards Palm Meadows. Go past Palm Meadows and turn right at Sigma Tech Park towards Varthur Village.
B. From Hope Farm side: Drive towards Varathur lake, taking the left fork at Varathur Kodi
Then,
Continue driving through Varathur village. As you enter Gunjur village, you will see Vijaya bank on you left and then Ram temple on your left.
Turn Right after ~200 meters. When the road forks, stay on the right side. Drive past Krupanidhi college and find the dry lake bed on your left.

There will be signs put up on that day to guide people who wish to participate.
