The GREEN DREAM team would take care of the saplings for a period spanning one year for all those which are planted in public spaces like lake shores, roads, public parks etc. Trees planted in Corporate spaces, residential complexes, schools etc have to be taken care of by respective representatives of these areas.
5. If I were to plant a tree, what should be the size of the pit?
| • | The size of each pit should be 2 ft x 2 ft x 2ft (Length, Width, and Depth). This size is very important for healthy growth of the trees. |
| • | The distance between each pit should be around 10ft and if there is any wall, the pit should be around 5 ft far from that. |
6. What is the process of plantation?
| • | Mix the Manure, which will be supplied along with the saplings (1 Tasala or approx 2 shovels) in the soil |
| • | Spread some of this mixture in the pit equally to make a thick layer |
| • | Remove the sapling out of the plastic very carefully (Preferably use a blade for this). Please make sure that you do not remove(dismantle) the soil which is surrounding the roots of the sapling. This is very-very important for the plant to survive as it is used to of this soil. |
| • | Put the sapling gently into the centre of the pit. |
| • | Now spread the remaining mixture (of soil and manure) gently surrounding the sapling. |
| • | Now pour 1 bucket full of water slowly (you can put your hand in the middle of the flow to reduce the force of water, so that the soil surrounding the sapling do not become loose). |
| • | Lastly, please do not throw/leave the plastic in the vicinity. |
